after the game prayer, the players took to the field and the captains took their spots in the center to start step 3. i wasn't privy to all that was said and am i an not an official, nor am i one to judge those who do the officiating as i sometimes have to think twice about whether they are referees or umpires. however, if i was one to judge, i may say something about them, but i am not, so we move on....
as a spectator, mom and a person photographing the game, i can say that it was HOT. finger numbing, sweaty hot - so, i can not even fathom how those boys ran, tackled, etc on that field with those uniforms and equipment on.
the boys played hard, as hard as anyone can ask of 12-13 year olds in 114 degrees. tackles were made, touchdowns were made, linemen were blocking . . . football was played. although some calls may have been questioned, the boys held their heads high and spoke with their actions more then their words.
and finally, when the end of the game came, the redskins were up 18-0.
way to go boys . . .step 3 completed!
before i end, i would like to send our well wishes to #30 - cunningham, on the indio bulldogs - we hope he is okay and is out playing as hard as he played saturday!!
