and i believe, what lies within each and every redskin on this team, is a champion. hold your heads high boys, there is no shame in a game like the game you played.
you could not argue the fact that the two teams on the field this day were the best in their area's division. two teams giving their all. two teams leaving nothing on the field. it was a great game. it was a game that kept you on your toes and if you are like me, also an ache in the pit of your stomach.
the game on 11.7.2009, redskins vs warriors, was an intense game, a great game. it would have been greater if the redskins won, but the loss doesn't take away from the game they played. there were no true bad calls, there were no big mistakes, nor bad sportsmanship, just a bunch of boys playing their hearts out. did we have a few injuries? yes. did we have a couple of our boys not in uniform due to injuries? yes? however, that does not take away from the way either team played. there were lessons learned and i am sure things that would be done different, if given a second chance, but there are no "re-dos" in football. lessons, i am sure, were learned at this game.
the score was back in forth the entire game. so, the internal optimist in me will go with the saying, "the game wasn't lost . . . the clock just ran out of time before they had a chance to win."
after the game, through the generosity of the Lugo family, the redskins ate lunch at shakeys. as we left the restaurant, about 5 Warrior player were out front. as we walked by, two shouted, "hey, good game." what a testament to their team, their coaches, and their family. yes, good game warriors!!
