game one: redskins vs. roadrunners ends in victory!

on the 12th day of september, in a very hot town in southern california, the pass redskins jr pee wee division a team won their first game of the season. the temperature was high, but so was their spirits. as a parent, i thought i was melting and couldn't imagine being in full gear out on that field, could not imagine just standing with a helmet on, let alone running and tackling. however, these boys did and i never heard them whine or complain. you knew they were hot, miserably hot, but they didn't voice it. they played hard and they came out the winners. at the end of the game, when coach rhodes asked if they were tired, in unison, they all yelled, "no coach" way to go boys. way to water la quinta's field.
